1. Art from recycled materials
Make art projects with recycled materials such as plastic, cans, and newspaper. It's a fun way to use your imagination and help the environment. (Read this ARTICLE for more)
2. Vertical garden
If you don't have the space or want to try something new, a vertical garden is the way to go! You can use plastic materials to build it and store your plants.
3. Reusable cleaning cloths or paper towels
Use an old t-shirt or unwanted piece of cloth to sew together a square for wiping down surfaces or general cleaning. You can design them the way you want them to look, and they are easily washable.
4. Make your own cleaners
Making your own all-purpose cleaner could not be any easier:
- 1 cup distilled white vinegar
- 1 cup of water
- 5-10 drops of essential oils such as lavender or lemon
- (optional) 1 teaspoon liquid castile soap for extra cleaning power
5. Rain barrel
Use an old bucket or construct a rain bucket to collect rainwater to use for watering plants in your garden.

6. Recycled candles
Gather the leftover wax from a candle and use it make a new one in a glass container with cotton wicks. Mixing waxes also gives a new aroma and you can experiment with different scents.
